Insurance For TMS Therapy
Does Optum Insurance Cover TMS Therapy?
Transcranial magnetic stimulation is an FDA-approved treatment for psychiatric conditions. Optum insurance covers TMS therapy for patients with major depressive disorder (MDD) and anxiety. Coverage for TMS has expanded greatly since 2013, when the affordable care act (ACA) expanded mental health benefits. Since then, many insurance companies have added coverage, giving patients more access to important services like TMS. We work with a number of insurance providers to help our patients obtain affordable treatment. We also offer free consultation appointments to every new patient. With six clinics throughout Orange County, we are a major provider of psychiatric care and TMS in the area. It is our mission to help every patient understand their treatment options, as well as their insurance coverage. When you visit us for your consultation appointment, we will make sure all of your questions and concerns are answered.
Understanding TMS treatment
The treatment process will take roughly seven weeks. Some people have slightly longer treatment timelines than others. It will take a few weeks of treatment for the patient to begin to experience the positive effects of the therapy. Every patient receives their own unique treatment plan, and remember that the healing process is never linear.
