Spravato For Depression

The FDA, Food and Drug Administration, approved esketamine (also known as Spravato) for the treatment of major depression in patients who did not experience improvement through antidepressants. A Better Way Psychiatry is excited to add this new resource to our list of services and help our patients in Southern California start feeling better. We currently offer clinic locations in Los Angeles, Orange, and Riverside counties, as well as additional locations in Carlsbad, Bakersfield, Oxnard and Santa Barbara.

SPRAVATO® is a nasal spray that is self-administered by the patient while being monitored by a clinician. It works with other antidepressants and therapy, and each patient may have a custom plan of care that suits their needs. It works by targeting the glutamate system in the brain that is responsible for regulating mood. Spravato blocks the NMDA-n-methyl-d-aspartate receptor which is believed to play a role in depression. Restoring stability to patients’ moods is the goal to help you feel better.

Are you interested in learning more about Spravato but want to hear about the experiences of real patients who have undergone treatment already?
