Understand The TMS Therapy Process

Your first step in getting transcranial magnetic stimulation therapy for you or a loved one is to set up a consultation appointment. All consultation appointments are free for new patients, so this is only a time for one of our mental health professionals to assess you as well as being a time for you to ask questions. All of our patients receive a custom plan of care that suits their exact mental health needs.

TMS is non-invasive, utilizing the power of magnetic pulses to gently stimulate areas of the brain that are underperforming. During the session, you will sit awake while a magnetic coil is aimed at the part of your brain that needs to be simulated. Many patients find that this is more effective for them than traditional talk therapy and prescription medications with fewer side effects.

You may be wondering if TMS services are covered by your health insurance. In many cases it is, but it depends on the plan and coverage you have. We can go over all of this information with you at the time of your free consultation appointment. We never administer treatment before making sure that our patients fully understand their coverage and the costs of therapy.
