TMS is an FDA-approved treatment that is non-invasive and local, meaning that there are limited side effects in comparison to many prescription medications used for mental health conditions. When you visit us for a TMS session, you can go about your day as usual once the treatment has been administered. There are no immediate side effects that will prevent you from driving or returning to work.
The magnetic pulses are not painful, and when being administered may create a gentle tapping sensation near the area being targeted. TMS is especially helpful for many patients who have treatment-resistant conditions such as major depressive disorder (MDD) or generalized anxiety.
